People ask if I paint a seascape from a photo. I tell them I grew up on the Atlantic Ocean, live near the Gulf of Mexico, and summer on Lake Michigan. Water fills my imagination; I feel a connection to it. I paint the mood of the water and sky. Sometimes it’s calm and other times it is more of a rough surf. But it always comes from my imagination.
